Our first sightseeing was at the Monastery of Meteora in Greece. Boy, those monks go out of their way to avoid company.

This ramshackle building - remeniscent of a haunted house in a Scooby Doo cartoon is immediately behind the blue mosque shown above.
Anzac day commerorates the series of battles in World War One at Gallipoli where in total from the two sides a quarter of a million men were killed, injured or missing including over 10000 Australian and New Zealand troops. The cemetary above and right and the museum below are moving reminders of the grim occassion.

A Caravanserai served for the camel trains that made up trade in these parts centuries ago much the same function as a Little Chef services does on the motorway today. It provided a place where they could eat and drink and rest from their journeys. This is the one at Sultanhani.
Our last stop in Turkey, at least on our way south was to spend the night at Snake Castle.
